Online Safety - Information for Parents

As a school, we follow the brilliant ActiveBytes online safety curriculum created by Somerset eLIM. This progressive curriculum builds our understanding of staying safe online as every class regularly takes part in a dedicated online safety lesson related to one of the three key themes:

  • I am kind and responsible
  • I am safe and secure
  • I am healthy

Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.

Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.

Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.

If you or anyone you know is worried about Child Exploitation, Online Protection or anything related to Internet safety please click the link below which will take you to the CEOP reporting website:

Online Safety Cards for Children’s Technology Gifts

The Somerset e-learning website has some advise for parents giving technology presents to children.  There are some downloadable cards to include with their gift. For each set of rules, you have to make a set of promises too! Online safety is a partnership – and it works better when you’re in it together.
